One of the most beautiful Pelikan pens ever made, the M60/60 rolled gold pen here in its second iteration, the Type II.
The pens simply shine as they are all rolled gold covered, photos cannot capture it and don't do it justice.
This M60 type II is the more rarer piston-filling version model, as opposed to the same pen that used cartridges. The pen is considered a Type II M60 as there is also an earlier version with a curved nib M60 model as opposed to this one with the flat face nib. The pen was the Pelikan flagship of the 60s M line. Stunning pens with extraordinary build quality, offered here in absolute mint near NOS new old stock condition, never used, rarely found in such condition as these were very rare pens produced in very limited numbers.
The fountain pen features the newly developed at the time piston filling system, which together with the complex feed system and cap, prevented accidental ink leaks, and was marketed as an "Airplane Safe Fountain Pen". The piston fills smoothly and the knob operates perfectly. These are one of the most reliable and elegant Pelikan pens, extremely well built, meant to last and endure hard work for generations. Beautiful clear see through purple ink window for ink level readout. The nib is very nice 18K solid 750 gold, a precise and rare HEF Hard extra fine size, constant fine line, perfect pen to use for notebooks, or pocket notebooks, where the pen is not too wet and does not stain the paper with excess ink, always producing the same thin line writing.
